John Edwards' Post Iowa Game Plan1/5/08 The pundits long argued that if John Edwards does not finish first in Iowa then his campaign would be over but John Edwards is still around and is fighting more than ever. What gives? Barack Obama is not going away. His message of change (and hope) has rallied a large bloc of Democratic voters and is bringing into the fray a lot of first time voters but Hillary Clinton is a candidate that Edwards feels he may be able to overtake as second fiddle. If Edwards displaces Clinton in New Hampshire and then in South Carolina, this could be a two horse race between Edwards and Obama down the stretch. The latest Rasmussen Reports poll shows Obama ahead of Clinton by double digits but Edwards trails Clinton by 8%. Edwards needs to take things one at a time and he can do so by challenging the establishment candidate. |
