The latest Iowa polls that we are releasing today seem to suggest that Mitt Romney is the slight front runner in Iowa. Mike Huckabee is a strong second. Of course it depends on the poll you look at.

John McCain is moving up in the polls in Iowa and is taking away any chance Giuliani has at a third place finish. And when Giuliani finishes behind Ron Paul in Iowa, chances are those voters would flock to McCain in New Hampshire where he is in a dead heat for first place with Romney. Even the latest Rasmussen Daily Report shows McCain as the national front runner (four-way tie statistically).

Just as the Democrats are seeming to flock to the most electable Democrat John Edwards, they are flocking to McCain the most electable Republican according to our article entitled: "John McCain is More Electable than Rudy Giuliani".

So if moderates flock to McCain, the battle will rage on between McCain and Romney for New Hampshire -- possibly pushing Huckabee back into obscurity if he does not win Iowa. But because of the fact that Huckabee performs so well in the debates, even a second place finish in Iowa would keep him viable for a while.

Ron Paul just continues to struggle in breaking the double digits barrier. Fred Thompson's blitz through Iowa could produce some waves and the fact that there are some polls suggesting he is in 3rd place in Iowa -- that would be a wild card but we believe John McCain's electability and national surge would win it out and make it so that he is third at least at this point.
