New Hampshire Debate - Huckabee Should Get a Boost in the Polls

9/6/07

In our article on "Mike Huckabee Surging in Iowa", we detailed out how Huckabee has gained in the Iowa polls following every debate.

Debate Polls Before Debate Poll After Debate Net Gain
May 3, 2007 (Simi Valley, CA) ARG, 2% Des Moines Register, 4% 2%
May 15, 2007 (Columbia, SC) Research 2000, 2%
Zogby International, 1%

Strategic Vision, 3% 1.5%
June 5, 2007 (Manchester, NH) ARG, 2% Mason Dixon, 7% 5%
August 5, 2007 (Des Moines, IA) ARG, 1%
University of Iowa, 3%
ABC News, 8%
Ames Straw Poll*, 18.0% (not scientific) 14%
September 5, 2007 (New Hampshire) ARG, 14% ???

But the one criticism that I have had against Mike Huckabee was that he needed to be more vocal about his stance on the war. All we've heard out of his mouth was about the fair tax, how we need health prevention, etc.. That is the downfall of Governors in that they do not have foreign policy experience. Well, all that was thrown out the window at the debate last night.

You have to admit Mike Huckabee showcased skills in debating with Ron Paul. He had a couple of great sound bites like we are not the "Divided States of America". He is going to get a lot of coverage in the upcoming couple of days for this exchange. It makes for great television and for most conservatives (who are for the war) Mike Huckabee stood out the most.

Anyways, if our contention is right, Mike Huckabee should find himself heading towards 20% just as we predicted. (Source).
