Mitt Romney Poised To Do Well in Maine Caucuses2/2/08 Mitt Romney won Nevada convincingly and it is expected that he will come out on top in Maine as well. The chatter all over the Internet is that Ron Paul would be the presumptive winner but that is more hype than reality. For example, the Blue Hill Fair Straw Poll in September 2007 saw Mitt Romney garner 46 votes while his competitors John McCain, Ron Paul, and Mike Huckabee were only able to garner a combined 26 votes.
