Rasmussen Reports: Ohio is a Tie10/16/08
Although Rasmussen Reports has Ohio as a tie, the weekly average still has Obama ahead by 3%. Survey USA released an Ohio poll recently that said that 12% of Ohio's voters have already voted and that Obama leads by 18% among those voters. It is the remaining 88% of voters that are divided. Pretty odd that there's such a huge disparity between voters that have already voted and those that have yet to vote. According to the General Election New York poll by Rasmussen Reports: Obama’s lead has grown seven points since last month, when he led his opponent 55% to 42%. The Democrat has held double-digit leads since regular tracking began in March.
According to the General Election Ohio poll by Rasmussen Reports: Only 53% of Ohio voters are now Very Confident that the votes will be properly counted and the right candidate declared the victor. Another 34% are Somewhat Confident in the outcome. Numerous lawsuits over voter eligibility are already at play in Ohio, where over 600,000 new voters have registered this year. Republicans question the legitimacy of voters registered by the liberal activist group ACORN, now under investigation in Ohio, Nevada and other states. Democrats say Republicans are just trying to eliminate and discourage voters in states where the party's candidates are at risk.
According to the General Election Virginia poll by Christopher Newport University: With just under three weeks to go before Election Day, Senator Barack Obama leads Senator John McCain in Virginia by 6.0% among likely voters, 49.2% to 43.2%. Obama’s lead appears to be driven by voter concerns about the economy. Nearly 50% of voters think that Joe Biden is the stronger Vice Presidential candidate, compared to just one in three who say Sarah Palin is the stronger Vice Presidential candidate.
According to the General Election Massachusetts poll by Survey USA: Obama Nears Kerry '04 Levels of Support in Massachusetts: Native Son John Kerry carried Massachusetts' 12 Electoral College votes by 25 points in 2004. Today, 10/15/08, 20 days to the vote, Democrat Barack Obama leads Republican John McCain by 24 points in the Bay State.
According to the General Election Connecticut poll by Rasmussen Reports: Obama leads among unaffiliated voters 49% to 42%. The candidates are tied among men, with each receiving 49% support. Obama has a dominating 64% to 30% lead among women in Connecticut.
According to the General Election Oregon poll by Rasmussen Reports: Obama leads his Republican opponent 54% to 41%. It’s the second biggest lead the Democrat has had in Oregon, where he’s been out front all year. A week ago he led McCain by 11 points, 54% to 43%.
