Ron Paul's Foreign Policy Would Make America Safer

August 3, 2007

Blowback in Pakistan (Al Qaeda)

Al Qaeda has retreated to Pakistan, an ally of the United States. Prime Minister Musharraf is on America's side but his people will be outraged if he gives in and gets rid of Al Qaeda. Therefore he has signed a treaty with Al Qaeda.

PM Musharraf has made it clear that no American forces are allowed to come into his country to remove Al Qaeda. It will his sole responsibility.

But if the United States is an ally why does the country hate us so much?

9/11 Commission Report: "The constant refrain of Pakistanis is that the United States long treated them as allies of convenience."

The term "allies of convenience" is very striking and so true. Ron Paul makes it clear that "on again off again" relationships with foreign countries is detrimental to our standing in the world. They see us as opportunistic!

And as far as why the United States is an ally of Pakistan... the majority of Asian countries (China, Japan, India, even Pakistan) believe it is because the USA secretly wants to create tension between India and Pakistan. In doing so, it forces India to spend large sums of money on national defense, instead of on trade and bolstering their economy. Why do they care about India? Because they understand that a golden triangle of trade between India, China, and Japan would hurt America's standing as a world economic power. Perhaps we should have heeded Ron Paul's advice of staying away from "foreign entanglements".

As Ron Paul always says, we need to "talk to people and trade with people". The fact that America has not done so has made us hated around the world.

Had America been governed by the principles of Ron Paul, America would be a safer and more peaceful nation. And it outrages me that idiots like Rudy Giuliani can preach offense on the war on terror as if it was a sporting event. And Tom Tancredo can say that he will bomb Muslim holy sites as a deterrent. Are you kidding me? Muslims around the world should not have to pay for the actions of the terrorists. Isn't that state sponsored terrorism? Is America a state sponsored terrorist?

What kind of message are we telling the world other than we are a Christian nation and that we hate Muslims? No wonder they grow up hating us and thinking we are the devil. Hate does not grow in a vacuum and all you Tancredo-Giuliani assholes are only making America less safe as stated clearly in the 9/11 Commission Report.

9/11 Commission Report: "America's perennially troubled diplomacy efforts in the Muslim world...'by and large ceded the court of public opinion' to al Qaeda."

Don't they understand that if we promote prosperity and trade that these nations will turn peaceful?
