Republican Debate - Five Things to Expect?9/5/07 Fox News will be hosting a nationally televised debate from New Hampshire and here are some things we expect to see. First , Ron Paul will win the online text poll/internet poll, etc... but will be discredited by Fox News because of their bias. It happened the last time Fox News had a debate, didn't it? Second of all, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney will dominate air time. Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter have been shafted in each of the debates thus far but it will be interesting to see if Hunter gets any more air time due to his Texas Straw Poll win. Third, all of the candidates will be asked about the direction of Iraq. They will be reminded of the fact that the GAO (Government Accountability Office) has found that only three of the 18 benchmarks were successfully passed. Ron Paul will continue to say we need to bring the troops home, and Rudy Giuliani will continue to say we need to stay on offense. Fourth, one of the candidates will be asked to comment on Fred Thompson's candidacy. Possibly Mike Huckabee who has made some comments about Thompson and how he will not be able to meet expectation. Fifth, Fred Thompson will be airing an ad on Fox News sometime during the debate. Sixth, since we are hitting crunch time Mitt Romney will become even more well known and will start to pick up steam in the national race -- it is not just Iowa and New Hampshire anymore. Seventh, the candidates that will likely see a boost in the polls (if anything) from this debate will be Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney. We say that confidently because those two guys have been bumping up in post debate scientific polls every time. Sorry you Ron Paul folks, going up from 2% to 3% is not considered relevant. But then again, nobody has studied the large Unsure voting bloc in the Republican polls. Are they looking for an anti-war Republican but never heard of Ron Paul because of lack of coverage in the mainstream media. If so, they will find themselves gravitated towards Ron Paul. We shall see. Eighth, (thanks to a comment posted below), Ron Paul will dominate YouTube after the debate. The Republican primaries are starting to get super exciting. Sorry you Democrats, it is just snoozeville over there.
