CNN has just released poll results for four states believed to be battleground states: Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada. The polls have indicated for a while that Pennsylvania and New Mexico are states that are Obama's to lose. These CNN polls only confirm that: Obama up 9% in PA and up 14% in NM. Colorado and Nevada, however, are competitive states, and interestingly enough the third party candidates achieve a cumulative double digits support in those states.

The polls have shown, for a while, that Barack Obama is picking up fewer Democratic voters than John McCain is picking up Republican voters. He needs to unify the party and the fact that Ralph Nader would get 6% to 8% in each of these states is testament to that.

The inclusion of third party candidates, however, in these polls do not appear to benefit either McCain or Obama despite the fact that Nader is outperforming Barr.
