Joe Biden on Iraq

8-14-07

While there are a number of one issue voters who will throw their support behind any one of the stalking horses just to spite the mainstream and perhaps also to get the point across that the shiny baubles that are dangled before their very eyes are n longer enough to guarantee voter support, Iraq most likely will be an issue near and dear to any voter’s heart. It is little different for Joe Biden whose poll number the USA Election Polls website has been tracking alongside the other candidates. A single digit candidate, voters in Wisconsin support him with 3% as outlined in a 07-18-07 Strategic Vision poll. This leaves him leagues behind Hillary Clinton who came in with 40% at the same polling opportunity.

Mr. Biden hopes that his stand on Iraq will change minds, and to this end he is quite vociferous in his allegation that the present Administration has grievously botched the crisis and the war. Unlike many other candidates who are quick to point out the flaw but have very little in the way of back-up, Joe Biden proposes to separate Iraq into three succinct regions under a federal government. Flying in the face of those who claim that this is akin the wall that separated Germany after WWII, the goal of regional separates rests in the volatility of the individual groups while the federalization still gives rise to a collaboration on the country’s governing powers. By the summer of 2008 most American troops are to be withdrawn from the country, thus once again leaving Iraq in charge of itself. It is uncertain if this plan is sufficient to lure voters away from the mainstream candidates.
