From Rasmussen Reports

  • 49% Say U.S. Should Keep Guantanamo Prison Open

» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat)

Nearly half of those interviewed in a recent Rasmussen Poll stated that the special prison in Guantanomo Bay for terrorists should be open. This is an improvement from an earlier poll where 59% wanted the prison open.

This prison has been the focal point of torture over the last few years, and the Obama administration felt it necessary to close such a symbolic sign of torture and aggression against non-Americans.

The problem herein lies: what to do with the prisoners? It is the author's hope that the Obama administration find alternative 'accomodations' for these terrorists, lest they go free. That in itself would pose major disaster to Obama's credibility.
