Americans Expect Big 3 Automakers To Ask For More Money12/15/08 Tags: U.S. Economy From Rasmussen Reports
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) The Big 3 automakers need to realize that Americans will no longer support their efforts to save their greedy companies. The companies of GM, Ford, and Chrysler have all been polluting the environment with their gas-guzzling, non-efficient vehicles and now they expect the American taxpayer to bail them out? Excuse me. Where is the bailout for the comman man? These companies refused to alter their production lines even in light of rising fuel costs during the past few years. During the Bush administration these greedy companies continued to build these gas guzzling cars without even considering new technologies (ie. hybrid vehicles). Obviously, when the price of gas sky-rocketed, the American people were shunned at even considering these types of vehicles. It was simply too expensive to maintain and run these gas guzzlers. Therefore, sales of these types of vehicles plummetted. These companies should have adjusted accordingly. Now, these 3 automakers have the nerve to ask the American people to bail them out? I'm sorry, but we cannot afford to bail out any other companies. These companies need to realize that they need to take responsibility and fix their own problems on their own.
