Americans Hold Favorable Opinion Of US Military5/26/09 Tags: General From Rasmussen (conducted: 5/17-18/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) As we celebrate the many sacrifices of our armed forces this past weekend, we remember all that they have done for this great country. A great majority of Americans, in turn, hold these brave men and women in great admiration. In a recent Rasmussen telephone survey, the polling organization found that a whopping 75% of those polled have a favorable opinion of the US military. Only 11% held negative opinions and 14% were not sure. Although this author holds several reservations about this country's foreign policy and our military involvement in international conflicts, this author agrees with this poll. We should honor those brave enough to fight for our freedoms and in defending this country. We shall never abandon nor disrespect any service man willing to lay his/her life for their country. It is the hope of this author that those who serve continue to be blessed and given the accolades they so richly deserve.
