Americans Not In Favor Of Bailing Out California5/24/09 Tags: Economy From Rasmussen (conducted: 5/20-21/09)
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) As a Californian this author would like to believe that this state can overcome its current economic problems. But, after a special election was held to help combat the economic problem facing the state, voters rejected several propositions that would help the state get back on its feet. Now is the time to bail out states like California, unless the rest of the country suffer the same fate as the golden state. Increasing taxes is one of the ways that the state can generate great revenue; another alternative would be a federal bailout. Much like the bailout of the national banks, a state bailout would ensure that such a state would continue its daily operations, without interruption of vital services. This bailout would be in a form similar to a loan and the author would highly suggest that this is the best way to fix this crumbling economy, one state at a time.
