Illinois Governor Blagovevich Should Resign12/12/08 Tags: Congress, Government Corruption From Rasmussen Reports
» Commentary by Kris Lazaro (registered Democrat) Government corruption in Illinois has hit an all-time high as Illinois governor Rod Blagovevich has been arrested on federal corruption charges, including attempts to sell the U.S. Senate seat recently vacated by President-elect Barack Obama. This is just the latest in what many are calling the pervesion of governorship in the great state of Illinois. According to this author, this governor should bow out gracefully and preserve the sanctity of the state of Illinois. He has disgraced the office and should not be able to serve public office in the future. He has abused his power and cannot be trusted again. Those to the right, though, should not use this excuse to point out Barack Obama's affliation to this character. Many have started to point out that Obama's skeletons are now coming out and soon he will be exposed as a radical liberal--please stop! Every politician, at one time or another, has had associations with questionable figures--it's just part of the job to circulate amongst a variety of people. This author hopes that people will look beyond petty associations in the past, and instead look towards the future.
