52% are now confident in the bailouts, down from 59% two months ago.
56% of adults have an unfavorable view of Republicans. 53% are favorable of Democrats.
Only 22% of Americans identified themselves as Republicans.

According to Peter Schiff, potential 2010 Senate candidate (CT), the Republicans are leaderless and struggling to find a way. He's right, only 22% of Americans identify themselves as Republicans. And worse, almost six-in-ten adults have an unfavorable view of the party.

According to the polls by the Washington Post, Obama's greatest weakness is in how he is handling the federal budget. Americans are concerned about mounting debt.

52 percent now say the stimulus package has succeeded or will succeed in restoring the economy.
Obama also has significant advantages over GOP lawmakers in terms of public trust on dealing with the economy, health care, the deficit and the threat of terrorism.
47 percent said they believe the country is moving in the right direction, well above the preelection low.
Obama's approval rating is slightly lower than it was in April, and his disapproval figure has risen by five percentage points.
On the deficit, intensity runs against the president, with 35 percent "strongly" disapproving, compared with 22 percent who say they are solidly behind his efforts.
Independents, however, now split 61 to 35 percent in favor of a smaller government
45 percent approve of shutting down GITMO.
52 percent said they approved of how Obama has handled Iran.

I'm making a shameless plug for Peter Schiff here because he's someone whose views I respect a lot. His views resonate with those Americans that are against bailouts (support decreasing), in favor of smaller government (61%), and against the war in Iraq (65%).
